Cassandra Leveille
Biography
Cassandra joined NELP as digital content specialist in 2022. In this role, she creates engaging social media and web content that builds community among workers across job sectors and uplifts NELP’s mission to correct the systemic inequities that remain embedded in U.S. workplace structures so all workers can have good jobs.
A digital native, Cassandra has an extensive background supporting nonprofit organizations’ communications efforts. Her work has focused on providing stakeholders with clear and accurate information on complex topics so they can participate as civic actors and advocate for social justice. Most recently, she served as a communications content consultant for Treatment Action Group (TAG), a research and policy think tank working to end HIV, hepatitis C virus, and tuberculosis with activist origins as a working group of ACT UP New York. She supported the communications team in creating graphics, social, and web copy to accompany the release of reports, publications, statements, and webinars. Prior to TAG, she supported fast-food worker organizing around fair workweek laws in New York City. Cassandra has written commentaries on contemporary feminist activism for Bitch, Mask Magazine, and Mic. She lives in Brooklyn, where she is a member of her block association.
Cassandra is a proud member of the NELP Staff Union, NOLSW, UAW, Local 2320.
