Emily Hirsch
Biography
Emily Hirsch, NELP’s Director of Development, joined NELP in 2023. Emily furthers our organizational growth goals by developing and leading multi-year fundraising strategies, building relationships with existing and new philanthropic funders, and overseeing the work of the development team. Prior to this role, Emily led NELP’s institutional giving portfolio.
Emily’s work is informed by her deep experience in institutional fundraising, relationship building, project management, and organizing. Before NELP, Emily managed foundation and government grants at Sanctuary for Families, where she was a leader in organization-wide racial equity and LGBTQ+ inclusion efforts, and a core union organizer. Emily is committed to community-centric fundraising and aims to incorporate those principles in all aspects of her work. Emily began her career teaching English and math, grant writing, and implementing grassroots public health projects as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia.
