In Support of Removing Barriers to Occupational Licensing for Returning Citizens in the District of Columbia

On January 29, 2020, Shayla Thompson testified before the Council of the District of Columbia, Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety in support of Removing Barriers to Occupational Licensing for Returning Citizens Amendment Act of 2019. This legislation, if enacted, would create greater opportunity for people with records who are living and working in the District of Columbia to access good jobs, reach their full potential, support their families, and become thriving members of the community.
