Tell the NYS Legislature to pass the EmPIRE Act
Corporations are using forced arbitration agreements to avoid accountability for stealing workers’ wages. If a worker has their wages stolen, they must argue their claim in arbitration, where there is no jury and the judge is paid by the employer.
The EmPire Act will allow workers to bring their legal claims on behalf of New York State—getting around forced arbitration agreements and making it easier for workers to hold employers accountable for wage theft. The bill will also increase funding for the state’s Department of Labor.
